The Wittliff House: Stairs

This is one of the 12 sheets of 4×5 Tri-X Pan (ISO 320) I shot last weekend. I really don’t think the scanner I’m using is doing the tonal range justice on these.

As I washed these, the emulsion lifted and floated away. So sad, but that’s what I get for not taking sodium sulfite with me. I’ve learned my lesson.

Drove down to Wimberley last weekend (it was 80 miles from our house) and took this inside Fischer Hall which is about 12 miles past the town center.

Another view of the same church from yesterday.

The first of two shots of the Haynie Methodist Church Chapel, which is apparently located in Garfield, Texas, just Southeast of Austin on Highway 71.

I took a drive down Hwy. 71 outside of Austin, past the airport. I didn’t really know what I wanted to shoot at first, but things like this quickly appeared. So as you’ll see, I didn’t spend the weekend in Westlake Hills again. This was shot with Polaroid 79.

Robert with an amazing carbon ribbon microphone we have at work. (I’m more pleased with this image than I have been with any of my other work in a long time.)

Taking a break from the Town Lake series
This is my boss, Monti. She, Polly and I went out to shoot some expired (1986) color negative film several weeks ago, and it still worked. This was taken on the North side of the Capitol.
This is the original scan:

Polly and I had gone out to shoot some more of this expired (1986) Kodak color negative film on the capitol grounds, perhaps for some shots for the 2006 calendar. This isn’t the kind of shot that would be in the calendar, really. But that’s not just due to the selective focus. I waited for the birds to hit just the right spot.

These are the flags in front of the John Reagan Building (which is where our department is located). The image was shot with some expired Kodak color negative film. It expired in 1986. I was 5 or 6 years old when it expired. Pretty unbelievable, eh?

My dad and my little half-brother Carter at our first house (duplex, really) shortly after we were married. I can’t remember why they came to town, but we shot this just before they headed back to Sugar Land. It’s an absolutely horrible negative, but that’s what Photoshop is for.

This shot has probably been done before (and I’ll shoot it again… not perfectly centered), but I just love this dance hall’s interior.

This is the first pinhole I took with the Santa Barbara 75mm pinhole I got last year. It was taken up at school (while I was still a student) with a trap door to the roof of the art building, where much of my Musician series was shot. Oh, and it’s a self portrait.

I know a simple Google search would yield an answer, but I’m cold and in a hurry, so what are these? Mules or Donkeys? Or is there even a difference?

The final part of the triptych with model, incredible photographer, and co-worker Polly Chandler. Again, using the bad Polaroid 59.
You can now see all three images as a triptych. The full image is 1600×900 and roughly 155k.

Part 2 in the series. This is my friend from work, Robert Igo. Part 1 can be seen here.
