Staircase
I love this house. I wish I could buy it and move it to somewhere I’d actually want to live.
For this shot, I set out a strobe through the doorway to the left (out of view) with a large softbox at 1/2 power aimed at the side of the staircase. I placed another strobe with just a reflector at full intensity outside the door in the shot. The third strobe was at the top of the staircase, and had a white translucent umbrella attached and aimed at the ceiling for bounce.
Er, wait… no, it was just the sun or somethin’.

Whatever you did worked really well to turn a mundane scene into something that is visually interesting and evocative.

I am so glad that this is natural light…I was getting depressed as I read about all of the lights added…This is absolutely perfect, just as it is.
