Staircase

I love this house. I wish I could buy it and move it to somewhere I’d actually want to live.

For this shot, I set out a strobe through the doorway to the left (out of view) with a large softbox at 1/2 power aimed at the side of the staircase. I placed another strobe with just a reflector at full intensity outside the door in the shot. The third strobe was at the top of the staircase, and had a white translucent umbrella attached and aimed at the ceiling for bounce.

Er, wait… no, it was just the sun or somethin’.

Coney Island Flying Fish

No idea what kind of fish this is, but it looked like it had wings. We asked the guy what kind it was, and he told us but I forget details. He was happy to hold it up though.

Seriously… what kind of fish is this?

Park Blanket

There was some kind of beer festival in the park back in June, the day before our New York class officially began. This guy had chosen to set his blanket in one of the few truly shaded areas, which is why I guess he was afforded so much space. Everyone else was cramped into what little sun was breaking through the trees.

Fly Delta Jets

On my way out of Atlanta to NYC. I like it.

And yes, I shoot color on occasion.

Caitlin Print

I’ve been really happy with how this image turned out, so I made a silver-gelatin print from the negative. I like the print even better than the ambrotype version.
