Drive-In
by Walker Pickering

This is an alternative to the original shot I posted awhile back. I much prefer this to the digital color version. I just developed this roll of film the other night, and I still have a few more to go. With graduation season underway, I’ve been extremely busy (I shoot college and high school graduations seasonally with a company based out of Dallas), but I’ll hopefully be getting some more film developer this week to finish everything up next week.

Wow. Outstanding.
Very nice night shot. Great choice for foreground!
I agree with you — I prefer this version. Looks like an “alien invasion” is about to take place.
I like this version so much more than the original. I agree as well, adding the foreground and the edge of your car to this shot adds a 3rd depth of field. I also like how the image falls off on the top and bottom. It does look like the beginning scene of a sci-fi or horror flick. Nice job.
So much better than the digital. This turned out great. It has a vintage look to it.
Hi Walker,
I never normally comment, as I don’t often have a lot to say. However your colophon and links text read well and motivated me to say how much I like your site and this image. The gradient of the sky is impressive with the odd star pin-prick. That’s my favourite part.
I hope your wife gets her evenings out!
I like the alternative better.
please stop posting images like this — it makes me want to run out and get a graflex 6×9– then I’ll be pissed because I don’t need another camera — and I’ll really be pissed when I cannot make an image as cool as this one.
Just stop it.
Now!
I love everything about this image……I hope that you don’t mind but I have featured this imnage today at my sirte and added you to my links of those doing it with film…great site…..I have been a lazy ass in commenting in the past…I will rectify!Phil
