Ground Glass: Pool

A shot of the ground glass before I took the actual shot.

This is the actual shot of Mansfield Dam. It’s the same thing that you saw in yesterday’s ground glass shot. Preferences?

To be fair, I’m totally ripping this idea off of Miles over at Mute. But when I went out to shoot Monday with my Graflex 6×9, I couldn’t help but take a picture of the ground glass with my Digital Rebel before taking the actual shot. And the fact that I was shooting with tungsten balanced color negative film might mean that the actual pictures might be a pain to color balance. That remains to be seen, though.

Robert with an amazing carbon ribbon microphone we have at work. (I’m more pleased with this image than I have been with any of my other work in a long time.)

This is one of my first shots taken with my new Diana No. 151. It was quite a steal on eBay. The pictures are actually quite a bit sharper and contain far less vignetting than I was expecting. Still, it’s nearly 100% light tight (I just need to cover the red film counter window in the rear and I’ll be in business), and it’s more reliable than the Copal shutter on my 4×5.

Tired of seeing Town Lake yet? I recently won a Diana on eBay, so hopefully you’ll be some of that stuff (in color!) soon. Hopefully tomorrow, actually.

I’ve decided to scale the image sizes back down a bit. I think they’re still larger than I had originally done, but I couldn’t even see the whole thing on my work computer. So hopefully this is a happy medium.
